In this issue, Tom presents an impassioned review of the new book Ernst Haas: Color Correction by Phillip Prodger and William A. Ewing, published by Steidl. Tom’s interest in photography was ignited in Kenya when he was a high school student during the late 1960s, and took off with the publication of Ernst Haas’s best-selling book, The Creation. Photographing as an amateur for several decades, he became interested in tracking down what had been written about 2-dimensional visual design and composition that is actually useful for making and enjoying photographic images. He translated Harald Mante’s The Photograph: Composition and Color Design, published in English by Rocky Nook. Tom will be contributing book reviews in upcoming issues of the magazine.
